The philosophy and goal of the Lutheran Good Shepherd Home and the Lutheran Nursing Home is to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment that meets the individual needs of the resident, as much as possible, and a home where the residents receive quality medical care and assistance with daily living at a reasonable cost.
These objectives are achieved through a teamwork commitment, the maximum use of the skills and abilities of all employees and volunteers who serve within our facilities. We also strongly encourage family visits and involvement.
Our health care complex consists of four independent not-for-profit corporations:
Because we are an umbrella of not-for-profit corporations and have no owners or share holders, we are able to keep our rates as low and reasonable as possible. Accommodations and services are available to all individuals, without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, handicap, disability, and religious or political belief.
Our Board of Directors, nine in total, provide their time, for which there is no reimbursement to assist with the operations and control of the facilities.
Within our facility we have two Chapels, one in the Skilled Nursing Area and one in the Assisted Living – Retirement Area. The Chapels are used by all denominations or congregations as represented by the residents who reside within the facility. Worship services are held numerous times each week.

The Skilled Nursing Area is a 113 bed skilled long-term care and rehabilitation facility under the supervision of a Medical Director with around-the-clock professional nursing care.
The Intermediate Care Area is a 39 bed section which also offers around-the-clock medical care and services at a level between the Skilled Area and the Retirement Area.
The Residential Care Area provides for retirement living with private and semi-private rooms available. This area offers minimal nursing care and oversite.
Good Shepherd Village consists of 80 retirement apartments. The apartments provide independent living and security at monthly rates based on the individual?s income level.
Good Shepherd Care Community see its residents as family. We are a community within a community that truly cares about the health and well being of everyone we serve.
